After-school Art Program.
Explore the vibrant work of American artist Nick Cave, celebrated for his expressive wearable sculptures called Soundsuits. We will experiment with texture, recycled materials, pattern, and movement while creating bold works of art that celebrate creativity and self-expression.
Ages 7-12 (younger or older children may be considered. Please contact arts@jcatroy.org to discuss whether the class would be a good fit)

Second Saturday: Holiday Ornaments
Join us for Second Saturday: Holiday Ornaments with Meredith Painter! Choose from an array of festive designs, then follow along as Meredith guides you through creating a beautiful handmade ornament to take home and treasure. A fun, creative way to get into the holiday spirit!
Hue & You by Pike County Art Guild
Hue & You: When Color Chooses the Artist, on view November 23, 2026 through January 1, 2027. The exhibition will feature artists from across Southeast Alabama exploring the expressive power of color through a playful and conceptual prompt: each artist must create an artwork inspired by a randomly drawn paint hue.
Community Theater: Murder by Indecision
Murder by Indecision will be presented by the Troy Arts Council starring the Troy Community Theater Guild on October 3rd at 7pm and October 4th at 2pm.

On Friday, September 25 from 5-9 PM, we're celebrating with creativity, live music, and plenty of fun! Create your own Diamond Art for $20, enjoy a FREE Dolly watercolor project, and stick around for a live performance by POPulus from 7-8 PM. Then, from 8-9 PM, we're clearing the floor for dancing!

Loosen up, experiment, and paint with freedom in this expressive workshop led by artist Liphus Swindall. Explore bold color, energetic brushwork, and intuitive mark-making while creating your own abstract painting.

Step into the imaginative world of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí, whose whimsical buildings blur the line between nature and architecture. We will design colorful creations featuring organic forms, mosaic patterns, and architectural sculptures inspired by his iconic masterpieces.

Date to Create: Portrait Printmaking
Monthly BYOB art experiences for couples, friends, or creative duos. August’s session will be portrait printmaking. One partner paints plexiglass while the other holds it to their face — then you pull the print. Hilarious and unforgettable.

Looking for a creative place to hang out on a Friday night? Join us for Friday Night Brights, a relaxed open studio just for teens (ages 12+) Draw, paint, collage or experiment with new materials. We'll provide a variety of art supplies, refreshments, and the chance to connect with other creative people your age.
